Rui Huang is a digital artist specializing in look development and lighting, with extensive experience across commercials, animation, games, and interactive media.

She is currently a 3D artist at Buck in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Buck, Rui worked as a 2D concept artist at Gameloft for several years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and a Master’s degree in Animation and Digital Arts from the University of Southern California. Rui became a BAFTA member in 2021.

With a strong focus on visual design and storytelling, Rui’s work has been showcased in a wide range of high-profile projects. Her animated short Dream Monster was featured at the Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein Re-animated event and received the California Library Association’s Wild Card Award. In 2019, she created the environment design for Imagine Dragons’ animated music video Birds, which has garnered over 300 million views. That same year, her piece Mind was projected at the J. Paul Getty Museum. In 2021, she directed and designed the short film There You Are, which has been selected by over 50 international film festivals worldwide.
